In a move to improve overall performance today, and even better performance tomorrow, Lynx Media will be offering three “flavors” of Pervasive.SQL 2000i to replace the existing Btrieve 6.15 engine: Pervasive.SQL 2000i Workstation Available on all Windows platforms, Workstation provides First Edition with the full capabilities of Pervasive.SQL 2000i without any networking requirements. This is an excellent choice for single user installments where data sharing is not a requirement.
Spanning the gap between workstation-based installations and true server-based client/server power, the Workgroup edition is designed to deliver client-server multi-user performance, dependability, and reliability to environments with no network server or where practical reasons dictate an alternate to server-based database engines. This is the suggested configuration for 3-4 users. The base edition of the Workgroup engines comes with support for three concurrent users to access the database. Single-user add-on licenses can be applied to increase the concurrent user count. Pervasive.SQL 2000i Client/Server Recommended for First Edition operations with more than five users, the Client/Server version provides the ultimate in performance and scalability, leveraging the power of a server engine. Scaling from smaller server deployments through to dozens of users, the Server edition can handle the heaviest of loads. Available on Windows NT/2000 and NetWare, you have the choice to use the platform that best fits your needs or configuration:
